About BASE 360

BASE 360 stands for Build, Advance, Strengthen, Elevate

What makes us different

It is our commitment to capacity-building that lasts. We don’t just run workshops – we walk with organisations as they implement what they’ve learned, offering follow-up advice, mentoring, and real-world tools designed for the voluntary and community sector.

“A stronger, more self-sustaining community sector led by racially and ethnically minoritised groups – equipped with the skills, strategies and confidence to deliver change and secure long-term impact.”

We provide one-to-one audits, expert-led workshops, and access to a growing Knowledge Hub of templates, recordings and tools. Our delivery combines in-person support in Leicester with online sessions across the region, recognising the need for flexibility and inclusion.

We are a free support programme designed to help community organisations led by racially and ethnically minoritised groups in the East Midlands thrive – not just survive.

Across our region, hundreds of grassroots groups are doing vital work under intense pressure, often with limited resources, complex needs, and barriers to funding and influence. BASE 360 was created to meet those realities head-on, offering support that is practical, accessible, and tailored to where each group is starting from.

What makes BASE 360 different is our commitment to capacity-building that lasts. We don’t just run workshops – we walk with organisations as they implement what they’ve learned, offering follow-up advice, mentoring, and real-world tools designed for the voluntary and community sector.
We also invest in the ecosystem. Through our Volunteer Capacity Building Adviser programme, we’re training local volunteers from within minoritised communities to support others. That means the knowledge doesn’t just stay with us – it ripples outward.

Training in impact measurement helps participants better understand and communicate the difference their work makes. Themes around community wealth building promote strategies that centre local ownership, investment, and long-term economic resilience.

The programme is specifically designed to support racially and ethnically minoritised VCSE groups across the East Midlands. Delivery is hybrid, combining face-to-face workshops at Leicester venues with online learning for flexibility and access.
